WHAT IS CRANIOSACARAL THERAPY?

CranioSacral Therapy is a non-invasive, extremely gentle method of bodywork that is becoming widely recognised. It is highly effective in a large number of acute and/or chronic medical problems associated with dysfunction and pain.  It is also finding increased use as a preventive health measure.

CranioSacral Therapy, as a form of manual therapy, uses a soft touch to evaluate and enhance the functioning of the physiological body system called the craniosacral system.  This system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

CranioSacral Therapy generally improves the quality of life.  It supports the body’s innate ability to balance and heal itself, as well as improves the functioning of the central nervous system, helps to reduce stress, improves immune function, returns physical vitality and well-being.

By releasing restrictions in the craniosacral system, the therapy supports normalizing cerebrospinal fluid circulation, balancing nerve function, releasing restrictions in the fascial system, facilitating muscle relaxation and enhancing blood circulation in the cranium and the body.

CranioSacral Therapy has a positive effect on the functioning of the central nervous system, musculosceletal system, cardiovascular system, immune system, energy system, as well as the various organs, connective tissues and body fluids.

Due to the extremely light touch used during treatment, CranioSacral Therapy is suitable for everyone from newborns to the elderly.  It has been proven to be effective in a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction including:

  • Headaches, migraine
  • Chronic neck pain and back ache
